Here are couple of poems that came out of Karitos 2012.
Snake!
A grey hose along the rocks
Eager feet, bare, unafraid,
Unwary among the strawberries and grass
Content, cautious piston heads
Pounding familiar comforting ground.
A thin open mouth for a nozzle
Untouched coils straighten and curl over the rocks
Dismayed, dime-stopping feet
Pistons jammed in place
Pediments of a tiny statue
Commemorate the snake’s passing
And turning, pumping, run inside.
Haiku
Open laughing mouths
Sing joyous songs of their rock.
Zion's artists, free!
