I found this story on the First Things blog about the cultural loss of endangered languages. It is a very interesting story, especially if you're into linguistics or anthropology.
I'll have to read that. Do you know if it was in conjunction with a program on public television about dying languages? We watched a snippet of that the other night.
By the way, I just realized that we're the same age now, for teh first time in our lives. And in a year, I'll be older than you.
I don't think it says anything about being in conjunction w/anything on pbs but the author that's featured does work on a dying languages project with the National Geographic Society, so I wouldn't be surprised.
