Gratitude List

A few weeks ago during worship time at 3D instead of singing Josh distributed paper and crayons and asked the kids to write down things they were thankful for.  After a short time he asked them to share some of those things.  I kept working the list throughout the following message.  Here's that list.  It's not exhaustive and it's in a mostly random order of occurrence.  I don't know how the math stuff got out first or at all.

Pi, the square root of negative i, fibonacci sequences, the letters theta, phi, psi, and teth, pizzas of all shapes and sizes, bacon, eggs, 6" pork chops, RDA, work, Tolkien, Peter Jackson, New Line Cinema, the confluence of the three preceding, F#, music, hymns, Narnia, Perelandra, C.S. Lewis, lakes, rivers, Leonard Cohen, Bruce Springsteen's discovery of Pete Seeger, my discovery of the preceding, Charles Williams, Dorothy Sayers' notes to Dante, George Herbert's The Sacrifice, Illuminate Chicago 2013, Dallas Willard, Terry Pratchett, Raylan Givens, absurdist humour, Bud Baer, alternate uses for barley and corn, regular uses for corn, toyotas, mountains, psalms, family, friends, Josh, Simply Youth Ministry Conference, Vineyard winter retreat, scripture, Jesus, Gospel, Holy Spirit, "God, you are the best thing that could ever happen to us", Medieval scribes, The Book of Kells, Doctor Who, GoT, ASoIaF, WoT, LotR, The Crossing, Gungor, Puns, worship, Lake County Forest Preserve, TCC, libraries, "Ouagadougou", dark chocolate, blogs, haiku, summer rain, partly cloudy/sunny days, gentle breezes, waves, gothic architecture, Andrei Rublev, adorable nieces and nephews and parents who are raising them to love the Lord, youth, Mellby Chapel, the windows in Boe.

There's an awful lot more to be thankful for, but this is a start.  It's also the restart of my blog.  Hopefully there will be more soon.
