I'll be spending Thursday-Saturday in Chicago at the American Theological Library Association (ATLA) conference so I may not get a chance to post again until Tuesday (you know how I do with blogging on Mondays). Hopefully I'll be able to post from home but I'm just warning you now, I may not be available. Also, Mom, if y'all want to call tomorrow night try around 8:30 your time.
Verse of the Day:
"So Joseph said to his brothers, "Come near to me, please." And they came near. And he said, "I am your brother, Joseph, whom you sold into Egypt. And now do not be distressed or angry with yourselves because you sold me here, for God sent me before you to preserve life. For the famine has been in the land these two years, and there are yet five years in which there will be neither plowing nor harvest. And God sent me before you to preserve for you a remnant on earth, and to keep alive for you many survivors." Genesis 45:4-7 (ESV)
In the youth group we're doing a series on Old Testament characters. Last night I spoke to the group about Joseph and trusting God through hard times. Because he trusted God throughout his challenges Joseph was able to see God's hand at work in what was happening and so he was able to forgive his brothers when he had them in his power even though they had sold him into slavery and plotted his death.

Thanks for the heads-up on the upcoming absence. I'll try not to nag you. Of course, I can't speak for the countless other women who berate you mercilessly for not blogging. We'll call at 8:30, if we are awake and remember. Love you.
i love joseph. i used to want to marry paul. now i'm glad i married daniel, who also learns about God's goodness through hard times.
I won't nag because he warned us in advance. Also I won't nag because I've been lax on the posting myself.
I also won't nag because your post and verse of the day are very relevant to the post I wrote last night, when I was really upset and in a very very very bad mood. (It was such a long, whiny rant that I just had to delete it this morning when I saw it with a clearer head).
So, thank you once again for helping me out (whether you did it on purpose or not, you helped me just the same)!
And what exactly will you be doing for the conference, or are you saving that for a future blog?
Future blog but mostly it'll be listening to presentations about library stuff

Any progress on finding that MLS program (nag, nag, nag). I didn't say I wouldn't nag at all, I just said I wouldn't nag about posting! LOL
my brother stood me up last night, people! just thought you all should know. :) (but maybe he was in the bathroom when i called)
Nope, he doesn't go IN the bathroom, he just sleeps on a sleeping bag by the bathroom door.
When Everett was very little, I crocheted a bunting for him. It was very colorful, so David and I called it his Joe coat.
Jamie has the VeggieTales video "The Ballad of Little Joe". It's one of his favorites!
We will soon see if Everett is able to blog from home.
Well........it's 7:30 and no blogging from home apparently yet...... I'll check in later.
Well, folks, it's 11:35 p.m. and still no Everett. Hopefully he hasn't been taken hostage by befuddled librarians needing an immediate explanation of Ranganathan's Five Laws. I'd say it's more than likely he walked into a room full of people he didn't know and hid himself so effectively that no one even knew he was there and accidently locked him in. I'm sure they'll find him tomorrow, but he may still be suffering the after-effects from his experience; I wouldn't expect any post from him until Tuesday. (Wait, isn't 'til Tuesday the name of a band?)

Yes, it is. Now hush, hush. Keep it down now--voices carry!
LOL!!! I actually have a CD with that song on it!
Notice: i called my brother three minutes early Wednesday night, and he was four minutes late getting home, so there was a seven minute lapse between the time i called and the time he got home. i think i assumed he had caller id, cause i didn't leave a message. mom told him thursday i'd called, so he called me back last night. he hadn't stood me up after all. he said, "you should have left a message. i'd a called you back." he still loves me.
I figured that something must have happened, because he sounded very perplexed when he said you hadn't called. We all knew he loves you, he's your bubba!
see how technologically impaired bubba is? can't even blog from home
